Why Tukwila's 'lawyer of miracles' shuttered her immigration firm
The massive, international, Tukwila-based law firm Luz Legal has shut down. The firm specialized in immigration cases while founder Alexandra Lozano branded herself as 'the lawyer of miracles.' Yet rumors circled Lozano for years about how the firm operated. Now a lawsuit alleging misconduct is in the works and thousands of Lozano’s former clients are scrambling. We’ll talk more about what could happen next with Nina Shapiro of the Seattle Times, along with a lawyer involved in the lawsuit and his client. Find more of Nina's reporting on this here, here, and here. If you or someone you know needs legal immigration assistance you can start here. SGN Endorsements Kshama Sawant (US House of Representatives, 9th District)
Our endorsement for the 9th Congressional District of Washington is Kshama Sawant! On Seattle City Council, Sawant was a driving force behind progressive policies and government accountability that made our city a better place. Sawant’s candidacy against Rep. Adam Smith as an independent socialist might be the change we need in Washington, DC. for the last two years of Trump’s presidency. Love her or hate her, none can dispute that Sawant has been an effective grassroots campaigner who has moved the needle

Tramps Like Us: A raw and unfiltered portrait of Queer life in America

Joe Westmoreland’s narrative follows a young Gay man named Joe, who escapes a difficult childhood in Missouri and spends nearly a decade wandering across the United States — to Miami, New York, New Orleans, and San Fran
