Former Seahawks starter coming off Achilles tear signs with Ravens

Former Seattle Seahawks second-round pick Ethan Pocic has finally signed with a new team, having suffered a catastrophic injury last season. Pocic, who was Seattle’s starting center in 2020 and off-and-on in 2021, has agreed to a one-year contract with the Baltimore Ravens. According to Ravens insider Jeff Zrebiec, Pocic’s contract is worth up to […]

Seahawks News: Ty Okada can be one-for-one replacement for Coby Bryant, Seahawks

Happy Friday! It’s the weekend(ish). And yes, another piece on the Seattle Seahawks’ bountiful depth chart. We as fans project, and rightly so, that the few holes that need to be plugged for our beloved squad in 2026 will be filled by players who have at the minimum shown above-average potential. Ty Okada is one […]

The diverse experience of the Seahawks offensive coaching staff

Last week I was mulling over the Seattle Seahawks offense. While the majority of players and coaches stayed, there were some changes that happened: new offensive coordinator, new running back coach, new pass game specialist. Some coaches that stayed got promotions even. While looking through their bios and coaching history, it struck me that this […]

Betting on Wildfires, Denny Blaine Verdict Is In, and Exchanging Books in Ballard

On today’s episode, host Jane C. Hu talks with science journalist Kylie Mohr about the prediction markets allowing people to bet on natural disasters, including wildfires. As this hot, dry summer continues, Kylie explains the risks involved in betting on fires that can be human-made as well as who is profiting from these bets. Then Jane is joined by contributors Guy Oron and Marcus Harrison Green to break down the verdict that arrived this week in the Denny Blaine park trial. Guy explains what the judge’s ruling means for park-goers and neighbors, and Marcus asks why this particular park got so much attention. Finally, all three get into weekend plans ranging from World Cup finals to book exchanges. And if you’re a City Cast Neighbor, stick around for a bonus segment about a legal battle between megacorporation Nestle and a local Seattle cold brew company.  Learn more about the  sponsors of this July 17th  episode: Seattle Theatre Group pFriem Beer Grand Central Bakery Want to get in touch? Seattle Kraken schedule drop

The Seattle Kraken schedule for the 2026 – 2027 season dropped today: A few notables: This year marks an 84-game season, up from the previous 82-game season. In November, Seattle takes on Carolina in international play in Helsinki. Enjoy the saunas and 7 hours of daylight, boys. December and January both contain three back-to-backs, so keep an eye out for how they’ll handle load management and exhaustion. The first home game is against Calgary on October 4th. The final home game is against Winnipeg on April 3rd.
